Champion Minds Play

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 31 October 2026

Champion Minds is built to collect as little as possible. In short: no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking, and your child’s progress stays on your device.

What stays on your device

When you create a player, the app saves these only on that device:

  • a first name or nickname (please don’t use a full name)
  • the avatar and school year chosen
  • stars, scores, stickers, practice time and accuracy by topic
  • sound and read-aloud settings

On the website this is kept in your browser’s local storage; in the iPhone, iPad and Android app it is kept in the app’s own storage. It is never sent to us, so we can’t see or recover it. The website also saves its game files on your device so it works offline. We don’t set cookies.

Your device’s own backups (such as iCloud or Google backup) may include app data. You control those settings.

Backup codes

In the Grown-ups area you can make a backup code to move progress to another device. The code is created on your device and contains every player’s name and progress. It is not encrypted, so keep it private. We never receive it.

Read-aloud

Questions and greetings are read aloud using voices built into your device, so the text is not sent online. On the rare browser with no built-in voice, the browser’s default voice is used, which may be an online voice from the browser maker. You can turn off “Read questions aloud” in the Grown-ups area.

Website hosting

Our website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. in the United States. Like most hosts, Netlify automatically logs technical details (such as IP address, browser type and pages visited) for security and operations. We don’t use them to identify anyone.

On the website, Netlify shows a small badge linking to its own site. If you hide it, your browser remembers that choice.

Contact form

If you use our Contact page, we receive your name, email address, topic and message. Netlify stores the message, may check it for spam, and emails it to us. We use it only to reply, and delete it when no longer needed. The form is for parents, carers and teachers.

Children’s privacy

Champion Minds is made for children, so it has no sign-up, chat, ads or tracking, and we don’t collect personal information from children. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles, and designed the app with the US COPPA rules (under 13) and the UK and EU children’s data rules (under 13 to 16) in mind. If we learn a child has sent us personal information, we will delete it.

No selling or sharing

We never sell, rent or trade personal information, and never use it for advertising or profiling. We only disclose it if the law requires us to.

Information held overseas

Contact messages and server logs are held by Netlify in the United States, and our email provider may store our inbox overseas. We choose providers with strong security practices.

Deleting data

  • Delete a player: Grown-ups area → Players → Delete.
  • Website: clear your browser’s site data for championmindslearning.com.
  • App: uninstall the app.
  • Contact messages: ask us through the Contact page.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to see, correct or delete personal information we hold about you (in practice, only contact messages) through the Contact page. We aim to reply within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au. In Europe or the UK, you can complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

We’ll post changes here and update the effective date. If we ever plan to collect more information, we’ll tell parents first and ask for consent where required.
